The CVV Number (Card Verification Value) on your card is a 3 digit number on VISA, MasterCard and Discover branded credit and debit cards. On your American Express branded credit or debit card it is a 4 digit numeric code. CVV numbers are also known as CSC numbers (Card Security Code). CVV2 numbers are the same as CVV numbers, except they have been generated by a 2nd generation process, so they are harder to guess.
The CVC or CVV number can be seen at the back side of your card, this number is mandatory while you are making a payment transaction with your card. See the below picture, it will give you a clear picture about where CVV/CVC is located.
